Blah, blah, blog…..
Seems that everyone has a blog these days. I’ve wanted to start one for quite a while now, but didn’t know what to blog about! Then there was the moment of inspiration…

A dear friend of mine watched the documentary, “Food, Inc”, and was horrified. I’m vegetarian & am not one to impose my views on anyone, but I am always happy to share with those who ask & are ready to make the transition. So I began bombarding her inbox with email after email of links, book & cookbook recommendations, recipes, foods that I love, etc. Then it hit me: why not put all these resources into a blog?!
There is a lot of overwhelming stuff going on in the world right now. There is also a lot of overwhelming stuff going on in this little life of mine. It is easy to chose a path of self destruction when the going gets tough, but I wasn’t about to go down that road. I was ready for a new beginning. So, to help guide me positively through this time of transition, I chose to put my focus on becoming healthy in mind, body & spirit. I also took a good long look at the food I was eating & where it came from. I was born in the ’70s and raised by an earth-loving-hippie Mama, who made her own vegetarian baby food in a neat little grinder for me. Through the years had a few unpleasant encounters with meat, but always went back to my vegetarian roots. Recently I have begun slowly transitioning to a “mostly” vegan diet. By “mostly” I mean I can’t quite quit the cheese, but I’m getting there! Put a cheese plate in front of me the temptation is hard resist, but I’ve easily given up eggs, milk, meat, poultry & fish without looking back. I wanted to make some big changes to my lifestyle, so I began scouring the internet & came across quite a few resources.
And now Vegenista is born!!!!! Many thanks to my lovely friend, Andi, who helped with the name & inspiration for this blog!!! Not only will I post links related to the vegetarian/vegan diet, I also plan to include links & reviews on eco-friendly & cruelty-free beauty products, conscious living, yoga, recipes & cookbooks, organic produce, local farms & farmer’s markets, charitable organizations, fashion, vegan & veggie restaurants, health & wellness, etc, etc, etc. I’ll try to post lots of food photos & hopefully some vegan cooking demonstrations! The possibilities are endless & beyond…..Please bear with me while I figure out how all this whole blog thingy works!
I look forward sharing this journey with you!!!
