Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens is a favorite haunt of my vegan friends, Andi & Kevin, & I’ve been dying to check it out for quite sometime! This afternoon, I met up with Andi & a couple of our friends there for drinks & appetizers.

Stone Brewing Co. is one of Southern California’s largest breweries, & probably best known for its “Arrogant Bastard” brand. What I love about this place - in addition to it being one of the “greenest” breweries in the world - the entire brewing process of their 15+ beers is 100% vegan! Plus, they have an amazing bistro with a lunch & dinner menu made with locally grown, seasonal, organic ingredients, & also happen to have some killer vegan/veggie dishes! In fact, they claim to be the largest restaurant purchaser of local, small farm organic produce in San Diego County!
Of course, just after arrival, my camera battery died - again! Ugh! Thank you trusty iPhone camera!

It was a perfect afternoon, so we sat outside in the beautifully designed one-acre “beer garden,” right next to the Koi pond! :)

Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to explore the extensive grounds, so I am must make another trip up here, with a fully charged camera, so I can really take a look around!
Now…the food…OMG! The appetizers were so good! We shared:

“Stone-Style Soft Pretzels” Seasoned with sea salt & served warm with specially made Stone Pale Ale Open Seed Spicy Brown Mustard from Carlsbad Gourmet & a (non-vegan) cheddar cheese sauce.

“Spud Buds” Stone IPA organic garlicky mashed potatoes, balled up, & deep-fried in Arrogant Bastard Ale batter. Served with a side of Stone Smoked Porter BBQ sauce.

“Housemade Hummus” Served with Crostini. Tonight’s flavor was “Ancho-Chile.”
I saved a little room & was all geared up for dessert, but was super disappointed to learn that the “Vegan Panna Cotta” was sold out! :( Oh well, this place is amazing & absolutely worth returning, not to mention, there are so many yummy looking entrees on the menu that I’d love to try! I hear the “Tempeh Shepherd’s Pie: chock full of spiced tempeh, carrots, zucchini, corn & onions, topped with mashed potatoes” is a dish not to be missed!
Even better, every Monday is “Meatless Monday” where an entirely meatless menu is served! You’d better believe that I’ll be back!
Stay tuned for a more extensive review!!!!
